Nepal Covid-19 tally: 776 new cases, 947 recoveries, 6 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, December 17

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 251,692 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry says 776 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 363 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 6,588 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 855,724 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 9,580 cases are active. Of them, 5,883 are in home isolation. Other 281 are in intensive care units and 59 on ventilators.

Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Kaski districts have more than 500 cases each. Manang does not have any active case.

Of the total cases so far, 240,363 people have recovered whereas 1,749 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 947 people have been discharged whereas six deaths have been reported.

Nepal’s recovery rate is 95.5 per cent.

Nearly 450 people are quarantined across the country.
