Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,517 new cases, 4,096 recoveries, 16 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 168,235 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 3,517 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,88 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 14,989 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 434,053 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 38,357 cases are active currently. Among them, 31,387 are in home isolation.

Likewise, 300 are in intensive care units and 71 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 128,958 people have achieved recovery whereas 920 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 4,096 people have been discharged whereas 16 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 76.7 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalpur, Dang, Rupandehi, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang and Manang do not have any active case.

Over 2,600 people are quarantined across the country.
