Nepal Covid-19 tally: 311 new cases, 121 recoveries in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 19,063 as of Tuesday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 311 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In this period, 5,032 swab samples were tested. So far, over 352,000 people have been tested for coronavirus in Nepal.

Of the total cases so far, 13,875 people have achieved recovery whereas 48 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 121 people have been discharged whereas three died. One of the victims confirmed in the past 24 hours is an Indian national.

Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 72.8 per cent.

The other 5,139 cases are active currently.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Rautahat, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha, Rasuwa, Mustang, and Manang do not have any active case.

Over 15,300 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
