Nepal Covid-19 tally: 224 positive cases among 10,768 tests

Kathmandu, July 31

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 19,771 as of Friday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 224 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In this period, 10,768 swab samples were tested. So far, over 375,00 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 14,399 people have achieved recovery whereas 56 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 151 people have been discharged whereas four deaths recorded. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 72.8 per cent.

The other 5,316 cases are active currently.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Rautahat, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha, Rasuwa, Kavre, Mustang, and Manang do not have any active case.

Over 12,100 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
