Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,954 new cases, 2,981 recoveries, 11 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, October 28

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 162,354 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,954 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 843 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 4,248 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 409,295 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 39,643 cases are active currently. Among them, 31,934 are in home isolation and 7,709 are in institutional isolation.

Likewise, 290 are in intensive care units and 72 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 121,824 people have achieved recovery whereas 887 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 2,981 people have been discharged whereas 11 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 75 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalpur, Dang, Rupandehi, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Manang does not have any active case.

Over 2,800 people are quarantined across the country.
