Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,497 new cases, 457 recoveries, 17 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 69,301 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,497 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 11,449 swab samples were tested. So far, 955,923 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 50,411 people have achieved recovery whereas 453 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 457 people have been discharged whereas 17 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 72.7 per cent.

The other 18,437 cases are active currently. Of them, 8,614 are hospitalised and 9,823 are in home isolation.

Of those infected, 232 are in intensive care units and 28 on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Siraha, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Rasuwa, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 6,500 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
