Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,454 new cases, 972 recoveries, 5 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 11

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 51,919 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,454 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 620 are from Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 10,701 swab samples were tested. So far 821,186 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far 26,672 people have achieved recovery whereas 322 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 972 people have been discharged whereas five deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 71 per cent.

The other 14,925 cases are active currently. Of them, 8,291 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 6,634 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 170 are in intensive care units and 25 on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Sunsari, Sarlahi, Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 6,000 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
