Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,172 new cases, 1,893 recoveries, 7 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 23

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 67,804 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,172 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,449 swab samples were tested. So far, 944,474 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 49,954 people have achieved recovery whereas 436 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,893 people have been discharged whereas seven deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 73.7 per cent.

The other 17,414 cases are active currently. Of them, 8,228 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 9,186 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 220 are in intensive care units and 43 on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Siraha, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Rasuwa, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 7,100 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
