Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,069 new cases, 768 recoveries, 11 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 40,529 as of Tuesday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 1,069 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 481 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 12,088 swab samples were tested. So far, 705,560 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far 22,178 people have achieved recovery whereas 239 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 768  people have been discharged whereas 11 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 55 per cent.

The other 18,112 cases are active currently. Of them, 10,832 are isolated in hospitals across the country. The rest 7,280 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 127 are in intensive care units, and 17 on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Dhanusha, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Bara, Chitwan, Rupandehi, Lalitpur, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 7,300 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
