Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,039 new cases, 1,173 recoveries, 9 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 13

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 54,159 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,039 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 597 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 9,165 swab samples were tested. So far 840,527 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 38,697 people have achieved recovery whereas 345 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, people have been discharged whereas nine deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 71.5 per cent.

The other 15,117 cases are active currently. Of them, 7,730 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 7,387 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 169 are in intensive care units, and 23 are on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Sarlahi, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 6,500 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
