Kathmandu, May 13

Ruling Nepal Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal assures that a railway will connect capitals of Nepal and China’s Tibet autonomous region within his lifetime.

He further claims that the railway will be extended to Lumbini and Pokhara.

Addressing a function organised on the occasion of Sita Nawami in Kathmandu, Dahal said the railway project was just a dream in the past, but it would soon transform into reality.

Dahal claimed he had requested Chinese President Xi Jinping to make initiatives for the project when he visited China during his premiership.

The leader was of the view that the railway project would be a milestone in Nepal’s economic development and growth of the tourism sector.

In another context, Dahal said a circuit should be developed to connect key religious sites of Nepal and India including Pashupatinath, Lumbini, Janakpur and Ayodhyaya.
