KMC deputy mayor in Nagdhunga to inspect vehicles entering capital

Kathmandu, May 6

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Hari Prabha Khadgi went to Nagdhunga checkpoint to supervise the entrance of vehicles and people on Wednesday.

After multiple reports of people entering the capital erratically, Khadgi said she reached onsite to get the real-time updates.

“After receiving the news of people sneaking into the city on trucks, I came here to inspect. Even after three to four hours of inspection, I have not found such cases. Only vehicles carrying essentials and ambulances are coming in,” informed Khadgi.

Khadgi also distributed masks to those seen not wearing them and collected information on the security of the security personnel from the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Traffic Police personnel on the field. She has directed the security personnel to strictly monitor the checkpoint for the coming days. She has also requested everyone to stay where they are for their own safety, in this difficult time.

According to DSP Ghanashyam Shrestha of Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot, a total of 37 vehicles on Monday and 103 vehicles on Tuesday have entered Kathmandu.
