Kathmandu, March 4
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has administered the oath of office and secrecy to Yuba Raj Khatiwada as the Minister of Finance on Wednesday. He also assumed his office immediately.
He has been reappointed to the position today following his resignation from the post as his term as a member of National Assembly expired on Tuesday. Khatiwada had resigned from the post before the expiry of the term so that he could get an instant reappointment from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The constitution allows the prime minister to appoint anyone outside the Federal Parliament also a minister provided the minister gets the membership of either of the two houses in the next six months.
