Kathmandu, January 18
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed Lok Darshan Regmi as Nepal’s ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Former Chief Secretary Regmi has been appointed as per article 282 of the constitution, according to a statement issued by the President’s Office.
Along with Regmi, former minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada and Nirmal Kumar Bishwakarma had been nominated by the government as ambassadors to the United States and South Africa respectively. Whereas Khatiwada’s appointment was made on December 22, 2020, Bishwakarma has not been appointed yet while waiting for an agrément from the host country.
The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has already agreed on all three names.
