Janakpurdham, May 12
The Province 2 government has decided to grant a public holiday in eight districts of the province on Monday on the occasion of Janaki Nawami/Sita Nawami.
The festival is celebrated every year on the ninth day of the waxing moon in the month of Baishakh according to the lunar calendar.
It has been learned that the provincial government is planning to celebrate the festival this year in a grand fashion. Religious scholars from Nepal and India have been invited to a special function to be hosted tomorrow.
Issuing a message on the eve of the festival, Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut said his government would make maximum efforts to preserve and promote the significant of this festival.
He hoped that the festival would establish Janakpur and Province 2 in the world.
