Kathmandu, March 1

The main opposition leader in Parliament, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has commented that it is already late to probe an accusation made against former minister for communications and Information Technology, Gokul Baskota, that he demanded a commission from a private company agent for giving a security printing press contract to the company.

Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, the former prime minister also mentioned that Baskota, in the leaked audiotape that allegedly contains his voice, said the commission would be shared among “us”, asking who else that “us” would include.

He demanded that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli clarify about the issue.

While PM Oli has been defending that the voice did not belong to Baskota and it was morphed using various technologies, Baskota has also filed a defamation case against Bijaya Prakash Mishra, who recorded the audio and leaked it.
