The faction of former Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has set candidate nomination fees for the conventions at various levels under the 15th general convention.
The election directive prepared by the Central Election Committee sets nomination fees for aspirants seeking candidacy in committees at all levels, from the centre down to the ward.
The directive sets a nomination fee of Rs 30,000 for president of the Central Working Committee, and Rs 25,000 each for central vice-president and general secretary.
A nomination fee of Rs 20,000 has been set for joint general secretary aspirants and Rs 10,000 for candidates for central member.
For central convention delegates, who are counted as voters for selecting the Central Working Committee, the directive sets a nomination fee of Rs 2,500.
A nomination fee of Rs 3,000 has been set for aspirants for membership of the Central General Committee, to be elected from among convention delegates.
For the election of provincial constituency representatives, Rs 500 has been set, and for the election of provincial convention delegates, Rs 1,000.
For provincial conventions under the other group’s general convention, the nomination fee is Rs 10,000 for provincial committee president, Rs 6,000 for vice-president, general secretary and joint general secretary, and Rs 3,000 for member.
For districts, the fee is Rs 5,000 for president, Rs 3,500 for vice-president and secretary, Rs 3,000 for joint secretary and Rs 1,500 for member.
The election committee has set nomination fees of Rs 250 for village and city ward presidents, Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,000 for rural municipality and municipality presidents, respectively, and Rs 2,500 for sub-metropolitan and metropolitan city presidents.
Likewise, the directive says aspirants for president of a provincial constituency committee must pay Rs 2,500, and aspirants for president of a House of Representatives constituency committee must pay Rs 3,500.
In the convention being run by the leadership elected by the special general convention, nomination fees have been set at Rs 30,000 for central president, Rs 30,000 for vice-president and general secretary, Rs 20,000 for joint general secretary and Rs 11,000 for central member.
The election directive prepared by the establishment-side Central Election Committee says fees of Rs 1,000 will be charged for ward presidents, Rs 5,000 for rural municipality and municipality presidents, and Rs 7,000 for sub-metropolitan and metropolitan committee presidents.
