Govt signs agreement with Chinese company for Budhigandaki construction

Kathmandu, June 4

The government on Sunday signed an agreement with the Gezhouba Group of China to construct the reservoir-type Budhigandaki Hydroelectric Project.

Minister for Energy Janardan Sharma and a representative of the company signed the agreement in the presence of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar.

Speaking at the function, the Prime Minister said the project would hold a great significance for the national development of Nepal.

He hoped that the project would be constructed on time.

The Cabinet on May 23 had decided to handover the assignment to the Chinese firm.
