Kathmandu, August 26

The government has decided to resume issuing no-objection letters for Nepalis preparing to go abroad for education.

In its bid to restrict travel so as to minimise the risk of Covid-19 infection, the government had halted issuing such letters in late March. Now, with the government resuming limited international flights from September 1, the government also decided to let the students fly abroad.

A cabinet meeting held on Tuesday evening decided to resume the service, informs a source in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

In recent years, the number of Nepali students going to various universities across the world is increasing. On average, the ministry issues around 100,000 no-objection letters every year.
