Govt job aspirants demonstrate against House

Youth stage a demonstration against the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of Parliament, in Kathmandu, on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.

Kathmandu, June 11

A group of youth who were aspiring to file applications at the Public Service Commission on Tuesday staged a demonstration in Kathmandu against the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee in the House of Representatives.

The youth were enraged after the the House panel on Monday directed the Commission to cancel a call for applications to fill around 10,000 vacancies at the local level.

The call for application was criticised for not allocating sufficient reservations for marginalised social groups.

Though the Commission has not made any decision about cancelling the notice, the youth, who identified themselves as ‘PSC victims’ and students, staged a demonstration at Maitighar Mandala.

They had carried placards against the Committee and the Commission, saying the authorities played with their future.
