Government staff tutoring governing job aspirants need to obtain a permit for tutoring first from now onwards.

As per a recent decision, staff above the joint-secretary level should obtain approval from the cabinet if they want to tutor potential candidates of Public Service Commission examinations. Likewise, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration will issue permits for others.

In the past also, the government had made a similar rule, but that was not implemented.

The ministry says the staff working under provincial and locals governments also need to obtain the approval. The ministry’s spokesperson Basanta Adhikari states the approval is required to facilitate online classes also.

“It has been found that some staff are giving their full attention to tutoring,” Adhikari says, “They prepare reading materials at office and tutor at institutes in mornings and evenings. We made this decision in response to such complaints.”
