Govt forms Advertisement Board to regulate ad market

Kathmandu, December 1

The government has formed an Advertisement Board for the first time in a bid to formulate policy relating to advertisements in the media sector.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology formed the board under the chairmanship of Mahendra Bahadur Sherchan, publisher of the Rajdhani daily.

The members of the board are Shuva Shankar Kandel, Balram Thapa, Chandra Neupane, and Bandana Danuwar.

The board will have a four year’s term.

Minister Parbat Gurung handed over the appointment letters to the officials at a programme organised at the ministry on Monday. He also expressed best wishes to all officials.

The board also has the members representing the Home Ministry, Ministry of Industry and Supplies, and Ministry of Communications.
