Kabul-Attcak

Kathmandu, June 22

Five out of seven Nepalis, injured in Monday’s Kabul attack that left 12 Nepali nationals dead, have been taken to New Delhi for treatment. Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday they were brought to the Indian capital on Wednesday morning. Two of the seven, who were seriously injured in the attack, were brought to New Delhi on Tuesday for treatment.

The ministry identified the five injured as Prem Bahadur Chhetri, Chet Prasad Sherchan, Kumar Bahadur Gurung, Krishna Kumar Deuja and Amrit Rokaya Chhetri.

Meanwhile, a Nepal Airlines plane has left the Afghan capital carrying the 12 bodies and 24 Nepali workers, who decided to return home in the aftermath of the attack. It is scheduled to land at Tribhuvan International Airport at 3 pm. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will be at the airport to receive the dead, wounded and terrified Nepali workers.

The 19 Nepali nationals caught in the blast were working as security guards at the Canadian Embassy in Kabul. They came under a Taliban suicide attack on Monday when a bus was taking them to their work station. The British security company Sabre had taken them to the Afghan capital for employment.
