Minister for Labour and Employment Surya Man Gurung said on Monday that the government is lifting the ban on sending Nepali nationals for employment in certain sectors of Afghanistan and Iraq. He said the next Cabinet meeting is likely to take a final call.

Gurung, speaking at a Reporters’ Club face-to-face programme, said: There’s tremendous pressure to send workers to the two countries. Most probably, the next Cabinet meeting will take an appropriate decision. Prime Minister himself has called for a proposal to this effect.
