The meetings of both houses of the federal parliament are taking place today. As per the agenda, the House of Representatives meeting, scheduled to start at 1 pm at the Parliament Building in New Baneshwar, is likely to pass the Banking Offenses and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS and the Legislation Bill, 2081 BS.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel is scheduled to present a proposal seeking endorsement of the Banking Offenses and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS. Similarly, Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya will present a proposal seeking the House’s approval of the Legislative Management Bill, 2081 BS.
Additionally, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to table the Annual Report of the National Information Commission for the fiscal year 2079/80 BS.
Meanwhile, at the National Assembly meeting today, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Paudel will respond to MPs’ queries concerning the Ministry of Finance. Likewise, Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Bidya Bhattarai will present a proposal seeking discussion on the Nepal University Bill, 2079 BS, which was returned from the House of Representatives with amendments.
