Kathmandu, October 1

The government has recommended ending the Federal Parliament’s current session effective midnight tomorrow.

The Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to end the session and sent a letter to the President’s Office accordingly. Under the system, the President ends the parliamentary session on the government’s recommendation.

The recommendation to end the session has been made by the government on this basis.

The Federal Parliament’s current session began on May 11. During this session, the government’s budget and budget-related laws were passed. Ordinances the government had brought while Parliament was not in session were also approved during this period.

Ordinance-replacement bills covering matters amended by the approved ordinances were brought to Parliament, passed, and became law.

A direct question-and-answer program with ministers was held, and ministers addressed contemporary issues on the government’s behalf, among other activities. However, a direct question-and-answer program with the Prime Minister could not be held.
