The government has taken the process of registering 14 more bills in Parliament to its final stage.
There are currently 36 bills pending in the federal Parliament. The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs said work is moving ahead to register another 14 bills soon.
According to Ekram Giri, joint secretary and spokesperson at the Parliament Secretariat, 12 bills passed in the last two sessions have been passed by both houses. Eleven have been certified by the President, and one is in the process of certification.
Of the 36 bills pending in the federal Parliament, 24 are under clause-by-clause discussion in parliamentary committees. One is in the National Assembly. The rest are still in the House.
The Law Ministry said the government has taken the process of registering 14 more bills to its final stage.
Among the bills close to registration are the bill to amend the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Act and a bill to amend the Act related to the National Vigilance Centre.
A bill to amend the Companies Act and five bills to amend various codes are also being brought. A bill on industrial property is also moving ahead for registration soon.
The Ministry of Finance is bringing bills related to public debt management and foreign exchange.
The Ministry of Energy has advanced a bill related to renewable energy and a bill to amend the Act related to water resources.
A bill related to an infrastructure tribunal and a bill related to agriculture are also moving ahead.
A bill related to animal slaughterhouses is also moving ahead to be registered in Parliament soon.
The Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry is tracking where each bill stands. It said the process of registering 14 more bills soon is moving ahead.
