EPL: Biratnagar Warriors top the table after winning all five matches

Kathmandu, December 25

Paras Khadka’s Biratnagar Warriors have topped the group-stage score table of ongoing Everest Premier League as they won all five matches played.

In the last group-stage match for them played at the TU cricket stadium today, Warriors defeated Kathmandu Kings XI by eight runs. Kings XI lost all matches but one and they were consequently eliminated.

Kings were chasing the 148-run target and they needed 17 runs in the final over. Though Siddhanta Lohani scored a six in the third ball, he was out in the fourth and they ended up with 139 runs.

For Kathmandu, Farveez Maharoof and Naresh Budhayer contribute 42 and 30 runs respectively. Other batsmen could not perform well.

For Warriors, Anshuman Rath, Basant Regmi and Ram Naresh Giri tool three, two and two wickets respectively.

In the first innings, Warriors made 147 runs at the loss of seven wickets. Foreigners Rath and Babar Hayat did a 73-run partnership. Hayat personally made the highest of 67 runs.
