Embassy urges Chinese in Kathmandu to have patience

Kathmandu, May 9

The Kathmandu-based Chinese Embassy has claimed that the issue regarding an abusive behaviour against Nepali police personnel by Chinese nationals in Singhadurbar of Kathmandu yesterday, has been resolved.

Issuing a press note, the embassy has directed its citizen residing in Nepal currently to have patience and to stay inside as per the directions given by the Nepal government till the international flights will resume.

It further states any conflict and disagreement that arise during the ongoing coronavirus crisis worldwide will be resolved jointly as needed with a common understanding between the two nations.

On Friday, a group of Chinese nationals had staged a protest in front of the main entrance of Singhdurbar, which resulted in physical abuse on the Nepali personnel on duty.

The Chinese government has already repatriated 340 of its citizen back to the country to date. But, many are still stranded in  Nepal with limited flights.

Nepal has suspended all international flights till May 31.
