The Election Commission on Monday has directed political parties to submit their details of income and expenditure from last fiscal year (2016/17) within next two weeks.

The Commission says the parties are required to submit their financial details within six months after the completion of fiscal year as per the Act on Political Parties; therefore, they have to submit the details by February 12.

The Commission reminds that the details have to be audited before the submission and the audit report has to be made public within next one month.

Meanwhile, the constitutional body has also urged parties which contested proportional representation elections for provincial assemblies to submit details of expenses they made for the polls within next 35 days.
