Dhangadhi blast: Alleged IED possessor succumbs to injuries

Dhangadhi, July 19

One of the five persons who sustained injuries in a blast in Dhangadhi of Kailali district of far western Nepal died during treatment.

Ram Singh succumbed to injuries at around 11:15 pm on Thursday at local Maya Metro Hospital, confirms the District Police Office.

Police have claimed that Singh himself had carried the improvised explosive device that went off at local Nilam Hotel, Dhangadhi-4 on Thursday evening.

He had an injury on the back of his waist.

It has been learned that Maya Metro doctors had told police to take him somewhere else for further treatment. But, police said he could not be saved due to lack of time.

The victim’s body has been kept at Seti Zonal Hospital for autopsy.

A permanent resident of Bajhang district, Singh would work for the banned Maoist party led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, claim police.

Meanwhile, four other injured are undergoing treatment at Maya Metro.
