Dang, April 17
Two persons died in a truck hit in the Dang district of Lumbini on Monday afternoon.
The victims have been identified as Sandesh Basnet (26) and Gopal BK (17), residents of Khaira, Ghorahi sub-metropolitan city-11.
DSP Rajan Kumar Gautam, the District Police Office spokesperson, says the truck (Lu 2 Kha 381) heading towards Tulsipur from Ghorahi hit a motorbike (Lu 73 Pa 1162), which the duo were riding on, at Khaira Chok.
While the rider BK died on the spot, the pillion rider Basnet succumbed to injuries at the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences during treatment, according to Gautam.
The truck driver, Dhruva Kumar Yadav (28), a resident of Pipara, Sarawal rural municipality-3 of the Nawalparasi district, has been arrested for further investigation of the truck hit.
