Court scraps case against Nepal Idol citing insufficient claim

Kathmandu, September 8

The Kathmandu District Court on Friday scrapped a case filed against the reality television show, Nepal Idol, claiming the petitioner did not  have enough grounds for his claim.

A bench of district judge Diwakar Bhatta made the order after both petitioners and defendants recorded their statements.

The petitioner, Yagya Mani Neupane, in the writ had claimed that the judges of the show were not voting out their favourite contenders and keeping the votes secret.

In the first hearing of the case, the court had stayed the vote count. But, with the scrapping of writ, the stay order has also bee quashed.
