Arun Chaudhary detained for 4 days

The court has granted permission to hold businessperson Arun Chaudhary in custody for four days on charges of encroaching government land.

A CIB officer said that the bench of Judge Madhav Prasad Ghimire of District Court, Kathmandu permitted to detain him.

The CIB arrested Chaudhary along with Ajit Narayan Singh Thapa, executive head of the board of directors of the leather shoe factory, on Thursday. The police said that he was also detained for four days.

The police also arrested CG Chandbagh’s President Sanjay Thakur on Thursday. Police are preparing to present him in court on February 2.
