Commission tells voters to carry govt-issued documents if they fail to collect ID cards

Voters line up to cast their ballots, in Rolpa, November 26, 2017.

Kathmandu, December 6

The Election Commission says voters who have their names listed in the voters’ list can cast their ballots tomorrow even if they fail to collect voter’s identity cards issued by the Commission.

For that, they have to carry one of government-issued identification documents including citizenship certificate, passport, old voter identity card, driving lience and land registration certificate along with them while going to the designated voting centre.

Those who obtained voter ID card before local level elections held this year can use the same cards to cast votes tomorrow whereas those who registered their names after the local polls have to collect the cards from their own voting centres today itself.

The Commission had distributed the cards yesterday also.
