Chinese workers begin upgrading Syaphrubesi-Rasuwagadhi road

Kathmandu, June 24

A team of Chinese workers have begun upgrading Syaphrubesi-Rasuwagadhi road in Rasuwa district. The road is critical to connect Kathmandu and Rasuwagadhi border point between Nepal and China.

Chief of the Development Aid Implementation Division in Department of Roads, Arjun Jung Thapa, says the workers are currently constructing some bridges along the route and the road upgrading will begin soon.

Likewise, the Nepali authorities are removing houses and other structures and utility poles of the roadside so that the workers can move their assignment forward smoothly.

After the repairing, the 16 km road will be two lane wide.

The project is carried out with a grant assistance of China and it will take three years to complete, according to the Department.

Meanwhile, the Nepal Army has completed the construction of Syaphrubesi-Mailung section. It is always awaiting upgrading.
