Bureaucracy reshuffle: Govt finalises stations of over 7,000 staff

The government has finalised the stations of some higher officials at provincial and federal levels under the civil servants adjustment scheme.

Out of the 7,349 employees whose adjustment has been decided, 5,691 have been adjusted to the federal government whereas 907 have been adjusted to the provincial government and 743 to the local government.

Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration started the adjustment process by initially adjusting secretaries. Adjustments of secretary, joint secretary and undersecretary have been completed.

Staff Adjustment Division chief and joint secretary Kedar Paneru says that adjustment of section officers is ongoing. He also adds that adjustment of civil servants working as section officers at administration, accounts and revenue departments, however, has been complete.

All 57 secretaries have been adjusted to the federal government. Out of the 676 joint secretaries, 594 have been adjusted to the centre while 102 sent to the provincial governments. Local governments do not need a joint secretary.

Out of the 2,006 undersecretaries, 1,539 have been adjusted to the centre, 237 to provincial and 238 have been adjusted to the local governments.

Similarly, out of the 2,341 section officers, 341 have been adjusted to the centre while 371 and 178 were adjusted to the provincial and local levels respectively.
