Kathmandu, April 15
Bibeksheel Sajha Party on Monday staged a demonstration in front of the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar protesting the illegal transaction involving the government land where Lalita Niwas lies.
A probe committee formed by the government had recently found out that the land adjacent to the Prime Minister’s residence was sold to different individuals illegally. One of the buyers has been identified as ruling Nepal Communist Party General Secretary Bishnu Paudel.
Therefore members of the Rabindra Mishra-led party today staged a protest for around one hours.
The demonstration was organised to alert the government against any of such incidents in the future, according to the party spokesperson Surya Raj Acharya.
They protesters had called on the government not to fall victims of land mafias and corrupt brokers.
The demonstrators showed various placards calling the government to investigate and take action against the big fish involved in big corruption scams.
