Interim order prevents immediate vacating of Bhatbhateni building on Lalita Niwas land

Kathmandu, February 28

The High Court Patan has issued an interim order, halting the implementation of the notice to vacate the building owned by Bhatbhateni Developers Pvt Ltd and operated by entrepreneur Min Bahadur Gurung on Lalita Niwas land.

The land was taken over by the government following an order from the Supreme Court.

A single bench of Judge Munendra Prasad Awasthi of the High Court in Patan issued an interim order, instructing Kathmandu Metropolitan City not to enforce the notice to vacate the Bhatbhateni premises operated on Lalita Niwas land in Baluwatar.

The High Court issued the interim order in the name of entrepreneur Gurung and his relative Sarala Ghale Gurung.

A writ petition was filed at the High Court demanding a prohibition order after Kathmandu Metropolitan City issued a notice to vacate all structures belonging to Bhatbhateni.
