Kathmandu, November 7

The Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee, the government body authorised to determine the dates and times of festivals celebrated in the country, has announced that 10:51 am on November 15 will be the most auspicious time for observing Bhaitika during this year’s Tihar festival.

Although one can receive Bhaitika from sisters throughout the day on November 15, the most auspicious time for the ceremony is at 10:51 am, as stated by the Executive Director of the Committee, Surya Prasad Dhungel.

Tihar begins on November 11 this year. This five-day celebration is the second most significant festival for the majority of Hindus in Nepal, preceded by Dashain.
