Bipin Joshi’s mother and sister travel to Israel to seek his release from Hamas

Kathmandu, August 11

The mother and sister of Bipin Joshi from Kanchanpur, who went missing after the Palestinian militant group Hamas attacked Israel, are heading to Israel.

Joshi’s mother, Padma, and sister, Pushpa, are flying to Israel via Dubai shortly to search for him, as he is believed to have been taken hostage by Hamas.

As Joshi has not been released even after a long time, efforts are being made through the United Nations. That is why they are traveling to Israel.

Israel itself has taken the initiative to bring Joshi’s family to the United Nations to increase pressure. Israel’s Ambassador to Nepal, Shmuel Yari Bass, bid farewell to Bipin Joshi’s mother and sister at the airport.

According to him, they will meet with senior Israeli leaders, officials, and military authorities.

Padma and Pushpa will coordinate with the Nepali Embassy in Israel, from where the remaining search efforts will begin. The embassy has also arranged their flight tickets.

Bipin Joshi, an agriculture student, had gone to Israel under the “Learn and Earn” program. He has been out of contact since October 6, 2023 , after Hamas attacked Israel. It is said that Hamas took him hostage, and his friends who were with him testified that Hamas had taken him away. In the same incident, 10 Nepali students were killed.
