Around 1,300 vehicles impounded in Valley for plying without pass

Kathmandu, May 14

Traffic police in Kathmandu Valley on Sunday impounded around 1,300 vehicles for plying on the road without obtaining special passes required for operation on the voting day.

Of them, around 1,100 are motorcycles.

Earlier, the Election Commission had decided to bar other vehicles expect those of candidates, security personnel, election observers and monitors, officials of diplomatic millions and guests invited by the Commission from plying on the voting day.

They had to acquire pass from the Commission for operation.

Likewise, vehicles of UN agencies, national media, Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office, offices related to civil aviation and tourism, National Human Rights Commission, National Women’s Commission and Election Commission have also been allowed to operate with the pass.
