Biratnagar, June 25
Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Lalbabu Pandit says all 753 local governments of the country will have sufficient staff by the end of current fiscal year (mid-July).
Whereas many local government have complained of underperformance owing to human resource crunch, the Minister says the problem will be added within next three weeks.
He claims around 10,000 staff will be immediately sent to the local level.
Speaking with journalists at the Biratnagar Airport this morning, the Minister said, “The administrative transition will not last after mid-July. Local government should not suffer from the human resource crunch after that.”
Meanwhile, Pandit informed that the federal government directed local governments not to appoint any staff on the contract basis by themselves after it was found that most people to be recruited via this process would be family members and relatives of people’s representatives and top officials.
In another context, he said provincial public service commissions would be formed very soon.
