Separate fire incidents in two locations of Gulmi have destroyed a house and a cowshed. According to the District Police Office, Gulmi, a fire broke out at the three-storey stone-and-mud house with a tin roof belonging to Ishwari Prasad Bhandari in Resunga Municipality–4, Arkale, due to an electrical short circuit.
The house was completely destroyed by the fire, burning down food grains, clothes, and utensils stored inside.
DSP Ganga Bahadur Saru said that two rooms built on the roof of an adjoining concrete house were also partially damaged.
The fire was brought under control with the help of police personnel, locals, and a fire engine. No human casualties were reported.
Police said they are collecting details of the property damage.
Similarly, at around 10:00 p.m. on Friday, a fire broke out at the stone-and-mud cowshed with a thatched roof belonging to Dhan Bahadur Bitalu in Chandrakot Rural Municipality–5, Kitini. The fire killed 14 goats and six chickens.
Police said food grains stored inside the cowshed were also destroyed. The fire was brought under control at around 2:00 a.m. with the help of local residents. Police are collecting details of the damage.
