Nepal Airlines’ Twin Otter stuck at Gulmi’s Resunga Airport due to weather

Resunga Airport

Gulmi, March 21

Due to adverse weather conditions, Nepal Airlines‘ Twin Otter aircraft has been halted at Gulmi’s Resunga Airport. On March 20, the aircraft bound for Kathmandu from Resunga had to return to Resunga and land due to unfavourable weather conditions.

According to Suman Jung Thapa, the contact officer of Nepal Airlines in Resunga, the aircraft, which had completed a successful flight from Kathmandu to Resunga on Wednesday morning, had to turn back midway during its Resunga-Kathmandu flight due to bad weather and halt at Resunga.

The aircraft must undergo a check before it can resume its flight from Resunga. However, Thapa mentioned that since the engineer is unavailable in Gulmi to conduct the aircraft check, one has been called from Kathmandu. He stated that the aircraft would fly again after receiving clearance from the engineer.

Due to high passenger demand, there are three flights per week from Resunga Airport. Flights are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from this airport under the initiative of Resunga Municipality. Currently, it is reported that this aircraft is prepared for flight only on Fridays.
