The government has approved the Contribution-based Social Security Regulations.
The Cabinet meeting held on Sunday approved the Regulations, ensuring social security rights to labourers working in the country.
The Regulations will also make arrangements for providing social security to the contributors.
The Act related to this was already issued last year and the Regulations has been approved in accordance with Clause 69 of this Act, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security has stated on Wednesday.
The Regulations has provisions for enlisting in the Social Security Fund, the individuals drawing salary from the government fund, the labourers in the informal sector and self-employed individuals.
It also has a provision, according to which an individual who has been delisted from the Employers’ List under certain stipulated condition cannot run away from the responsibility of paying to the contributor.
