Province 3: Minister says centre not helping his government

Hetaunda, March 5

Province 3 Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Shalik Ram Jammarkattel says the central government is not helping the provinces get on with their business.

Speaking at a programme in the makeshift capital Hetaunda, Jamarkattel said that the centre had not taken the initiative to make new laws to facilitate the work of the provinces. He said that even the local governments were finding it difficult to operate in the absence of necessary laws.

That is why the province will take the initiative to make laws it requires, he said. “We are also the representatives of the people. That is why we will take the initiative to make our own laws,” Jammarkattel, who belongs to CPN Maoist Centre said.
