Kathmandu, August 19

Three persons died when another is missing when a landslide buried a house in Koldanda, Naukunda rural municipality-5 of the Rsuwa district in the wee hours of Thursday.

The victims have been identified as Kamala Khalan (32), and her two children Sokita (11) and Sukumaya (8). Kamala’s husband Shyam Bahadur is injured.

Shyam and Kamal’s seven-year-old son Aashish is missing and police have launched a search mission.

Meanwhile, Shyam is undergoing treatment at the Trauma Centre in Kathmandu after primary treatment at the Trishuli Hospital in Nuwakot.

“The neighbours say they heard a big bang at around 3 am today. When they looked out, they saw the house buried,” DSP Devendra Pandey, the District Police Office chief, says.

The incident site is around 50 km away from the district headquarters Dhunche.
