It has been two months since the flooding and landslide at Paschim Dhorpatan municipality-9 in the district that claimed 22 lives. However, the whereabouts of 15 others missing in the disaster is still unknown.
Details of the people missing have been reported to the Ministry of Home Affairs and other concerned authorities across the country. However, the search for the missing people along the banks of Bhuji River and the landslide-hit areas has been stopped.
“We have not halted the search. But, its form has been changed. We have circulated the information about their disappearance across the country. The whereabouts of them are unknown,” says SP Lokendra Shrestha.
The District Administration Office, at the direction of the Home Ministry, has provided compensation to the families of the missing people.
In total, 130 houses in wards 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Dhorpatan municipality were damaged in the disasters, according to the municipality.
