Tourism infrastructure investments exceeding Rs 60 million under construction in Baglung

The Gandaki provincial government has prioritised the promotion of religious tourism sites that have been neglected for years in the Baglung district. In this regard, the Gandaki province’s Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forests, and Environment has commenced the construction of tourism infrastructure at 76 locations in the district this year.

The Ministry has allocated Rs 64 million for developing tourism infrastructure across all 10 local levels in the district. These projects are being executed through the Tourism and Industry Office Baglung.

It is reported that among the 76 projects, 58 are under construction after the contract agreements have been concluded, while 18 projects are in the contractual process.

The municipality with the highest number of projects is Baglung Municipality. According to Parasingh Thapa, the Chief of the Tourism and Industry Office Baglung, the municipality has 20 such projects with a budgetary allocation of Rs 23.5 million.
